The CTA holiday train rolled into town on Friday. The train will operate from 3-7 p.m. on weekdays and 1-8 p.m. on weekends.

Late night Red Line riders should allow extra travel time this week maintenance work is expected to cause minor delays between the Near North and Near South sides.
Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Grand and Ceramk-Chinatown stations from 11 p.m. Monday until 4 am. Friday while crews perform track maintenance, according to the CTA's website. The work will continue at the same times late Wednesday into early Thursday, and late Thursday into early Friday.
During those times, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Howard-bound side of the platform at the Lake, Monroe, Jackson, Harrison and Roosevelt stations, the CTA said.
Additionally, Red Line trains will run on the same track between the Lake and North/Clybourn stations from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday for track maintenance, the CTA said. Passengers must board on the 95th Street-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Division station.
Minor delays are expected and the CTA advises passengers allow extra travel time.
