Living with ADHD-Winner of the Peter Lisagor Award

CHICAGO (My50 Chicago) -

Today we're talking about a four-letter word that many parents don't want to hear, especially when you're talking about their child.  It's ADHD.

From restricting their child's sugars, to gluten-free eating, parents are trying several methods to avoid having their kids labled with ADHD.

But do the altered diets work?  Today we'll talk about why so many children are diagnosed with this condition, why parents are skeptical about the diagnoses and find out the warning signs.

We'll also talk to one college student who was diagnosed when she was young and the journey she's taken to accept her own diagnosis.

Joining us today are:

Dr. Angela Mahome, Board Certified Child Psychiatrist, Gilead Behavioral Health, Inc., www.aacap.org

Candace Williams, Sophomore, Iowa State University

Dr. Carolyn O'Neal, AcaDDemics, School Related Services For Your ADHD Child.
