Today on Perspective we will talk with Corey Brooks of New Beginnings Church who made national headlines over the winter when he took up residence in a tent on the roof of abandoned motel.
The goal, to raise money for a south side community center so that people are protected from community violence.
Brooks stayed atop the motel 94 grueling winter days--vowing to not come down until he raised the $450,000 to purchase the property.
Media mogul Tyler Perry heard about Brooks mission and donated the final $100,000.
But that may very well have been the easy part.
Now the southside pastor has to raise another $15 million dollars to get the center built.
Brooks is here today to talk about the current status of the project, where he is in his fundraising, and to give more details about the center will include.
We'll also talk to him about his relationship with Tyler Perry today and what's happened since Perry's unexpected donation.
