CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Mayor Emanuel welcomed a taste of France downtown Tuesday night.

It was opening night of the Paris Opera Ballet at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park.

It's the first time the ballet has performed in Chicago since 1948, and the troupe's first time in the United States in 15 years.

The Paris Opera Ballet has roots that date back to the 15th century.

They're in town for the next week.
