Chicago Fire Dept. warns about grilling safely

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Fire Department is sent out a warning Friday about safety regarding gas or charcoal grills.

A four-flat on the North Side caught fire after someone left the grill burning. The building is now uninhabitable.

Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Roccasalva said luckily no one got hurt or died.

The fire chief said never ever walk away from a grill, especially if grilling on a wooden porch. It's a good idea to have the fire extinguisher at the ready.
