Chicago's Lurie Children's Hospital tells Batman impersonator: No thanks

Chicago's Lurie Children's Hospital canceled an appearance by a Batman impersonator over concerns he might upset patients and parents.
Baltimore businessman Lenny "Batman" Robinson is on tour right now, visiting children's hospitals across the country, but his itinerary has changed since the Colorado movie theater massacre.
"I'm disappointed. I don't agree with the decision. I think it's a shame because of what I do with the kids," said Robinson.
In a full, authentic Batman costume, Robinson drives his custom Lamborghini Batmobile across the country, cheering up children in hospitals, many terminally ill.
"It brightens their day. It gives them hope," said Robinson.
It's been 11 years since Robinson started this mission and he was scheduled to visit Lurie on Friday.
"After consulting with the head of [its] Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, it was the hospital's decision to reschedule the visit because his coming here is too soon after the shooting and it might be upsetting to some children and families," said Lurie Children's Hospital's spokeswoman Julie Pesch in a statement.
A St. Louis children's hospital also canceled Robinson's appearance, though the self-proclaimed super hero says the tragedy was not mentioned during his Thursday morning visit to Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.
