Bio- Louis, entering his fourth season with the Bears, has started at right guard and right tackle 17 times and appeared in 30 games total. In 2011, he played in 14 games with 13 starts and assisted the Bears in passing the 2,000-yard rushing mark for the second time in 21 years. He switched to right tackle partway through 2011. An ankle injury limited Louis's time in the early parts of the 2011 season.
Lou's Call –This is a big season for Louis. He did a terrific job last year moving from right guard to right tackle to replace the injured Gabe Carimi. Remember, Louis has been a Mike Tice project. He was converted from a tight end to an offensive lineman so that's going to take a little time. In addition, two years ago he let a knee injury derail his season. Coaches felt he should've been tougher and been back on the football field. Louis told me he learned a valuable lesson, everyone plays hurt. This kid's nasty folks and I'm a fan of his attitude.
Tom's Take – Louis is big, strong and athletic. He's played both guard and tackle and should provide depth if he doesn't win a starting job. Like Webb, he has tremendous potential but has yet to reach that potential.
Dionne's View – Got to appreciate his ability to be shifted around the line and still be a solid piece to the front five. If he earns the start at RG (which he should) and gets to stay there his athleticism will pay off.
