CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE: Two men were found shot to death in their car on the Far South Side Thursday night.

Police found them unresponsive in a car near 100th and Torrence Avenue in the South Deering neighborhood at around 11:15 p.m.

Each was shot once in the head. They had both suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The two men were dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The M.E.'s office did not have their identities early Friday but said they were in their 20s.

Police said the shooting was gang related.

Police on patrol nearby heard the gunfire and rushed to the scene, then quickly called for back-up, police said. Responding officers set up a perimeter on Torrence Avenue to prevent any suspects from moving east into residential areas and to contain them to the industrial area west of the scene.

A man fleeing the scene on foot was captured, but no weapon was recovered, police said.

He is being questioned early Friday as Area South detectives continue their investigation.
