GURNEE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two teens were charged in a Gurnee burglary Monday after someone noticed them sitting in a neighbor's unlocked car.

Nicholas Bonilla, 18, and Nicholas Alvery, 17, both of Lindenhurst, were arrested after they were found sitting in an unlocked car in a driveway in the 1100 block of Laurel Lane in Gurnee at 5:28 a.m. Sunday, according to a Gurnee police release.

After the neighbor called police, Bonilla and Alvery fled—though Gurnee police and members of the Lake County Sheriff's Department spread throughout the area and caught them, the release said.

Gurnee police said the two were suspected in a number of local burglaries. Both were charged with two counts of burglary, a class two felony, according to the release.

They are expected to appear in bond court Monday, and police expect further charges.
