CHRIS WILLIAMS #74 Guard/Tackle

DOB: 8/26/85

6'6", 320

5th / Vanderbilt

Bio - Williams has spent his entire career with the Bears and played in 47 career games with 38 starts in various guard and tackle positions. He started at right guard when matt Forte rushed for 205 yards against Carolina in 2011, which tied for 2nd most in Bears history. A hand injury placed him on the Injured Reserve for 11/14/11. Williams also blocked for Jay Cutler during the 2009 season that saw Cutler throw for 3,666 yards (second highest total in franchise history).

Lou CanellisLou's Call – This will be the biggest season of William's career. His contract runs out at the end of the 2012-2013 season. He's never lived up to the hype of being the 14th pick in the draft. The back surgery he went through in August of his rookie season got him off the wrong foot and he's also been shifted between left guard, right tackle, and now left tackle. All the chips are down this year, protect Cutler's backside at left tackle and maybe Chicago remains home for another 3-4 years.

Tom WaddleTom's Take – Williams moves back to tackle and will compete for starting job on the left. It's been a less than dominant start to his career after being a first round pick, but he has a chance to re-establish himself. He is versatile and can play both tackle spots and guard.

Dionne Miller Dionne's View – Has been a difference maker on the O-line before. Coming off an injury and watching the struggles at LT, Williams has an opportunity to take over the starting role and help Cutler be even more elite. I say he rises to that challenge.
