One of his stops was the Bridgeport Art Center, where the president gave a televised address to about a thousand young people.
He made his first mention of challenger Mitt Romney's choice for Vice President, Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan, in Chicago this weekend:
"My opponents and Congressman Ryan and their allies in Congress," President Obama began, "they all believe if we get rid of more regulations on big corporations and we give more tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans, it will lead to jobs and prosperity for everybody else. That's what they're proposing.
"Paul Ryan is a decent man, a family man, an articulate spokesman for Romney's vision, but [theirs is] a vision that I fundamentally disagree with."
It's estimated the President Obama raised $4-6 million dollars on his swing through his hometown.
