Bio - A versatile lineman who has started at both guard and center, Spencer was named to the Pro Football Weekly all-rookie team in 2005 after helping block for Shaun Alexander's 1,000 yard rushing season. Entering his second season with the Bears, he started 14 of 15 games played at right guard in 2011 while assisting the Bears offense in passing the 2,000 yard rushing mark for the second time in 21 years. Over 97 career games, Spencer has started in 84 (including all six playoff games he's appeared in).

Lou CanellisLou's Call – Now you know what a coach means when he says, "a change of scenery may be good for the guy!" #1 draft pick in 2005 in Seattle and never played like it. One scout said, "he isn't mean enough and he's not as good as he thinks he is"… nothing like challenging a man's character! Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll didn't even make him an offer to stay. Spencer came to the Bears to replace Kreutz at center but has found a home at left guard.

Tom WaddleTom's Take –Spencer should man one of the guard spots once again. His excellent play in 2011 flew under the radar. Spencer is a reliable pro.

Dionne MillerDionne's View – Played the role of replacing Olin Kreutz fairly well last season. A second year in the system will further solidify him at Right Guard. Another "it's a contract year" player- so expect him to perform.
