CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department says taxpayer money is not being used to pay for officers on the job in Charlotte this week.

50 Chicago officers will be patrolling the grounds at the Democratic National Convention, but spokeswoman Melissa Straton says the officers are working on their personal vacation time.

Officers from Charlotte were in Chicago back in May to help keep the peace during the NATO summit.
