A dog being walked along Lake Michigan near Rogers Park contracted a fungal infection, called Blastomycosis, that caused it go blind.

Though it's not contagious, another dog lost sight in one eye last summer because of the same infection in South Evanston.

There may be also be a couple cases in the Buffalo Grove area, but Alderman Joe Moore says these are very isolated cases.
