CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
On Monday, thousands of Chicago public school students enrolled in charter schools will be going to school, despite the strike.
There are more than 100 charter schools in Chicago, serving more than 40,000 students. The charter school leaders are expecting their attendance to be around their usual 94%.
Some charter school leaders said today are worried that people might think that teachers going to work at charters are scabs. While some charter teachers are unionized, they are not members of the CTU.
They also say that some charters do have openings right now and they've been getting a lot of calls from interested parents.
