Grief is defined as intense and painful emotions experienced when someone or something a person cares about either dies or is lost, according to Healthline.com

Chronic grief is grieving that lasts for a long prolonged period of time.

According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, 20% of adolescents have a diagnosable mental disorder, but 70% of those people do not get the care they need.
