Ill. Tollway may revive beeping I-PASS transponders

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
The Illinois Tollway is considering reintroducing I-PASS transponders that beep when drivers successfully pay tolls.
Transponders did beep at one time.
The Tollway conducted a survey a couple of years ago and found 90 percent of customers surveyed were interested in getting "feedback transponders" and 38 percent were willing to pay for the feature.
But new transponders also would require new equipment at toll plazas.
So officials still aren't sure how to pay for the plan.
