This weekend is sure to be a hit for animal lovers, foodies, oenophiles, culture-seekers and yoga addicts. Even if you aren't, join the fun and have the perfect weekend with Time Out Chicago's picks.
Take a family- and pup-friendly 1.5-mile stroll through Roscoe Village, then join the pack for live music, contests, meet and greets with adoptable dogs and a postwalk barbecue. Registration begins at 11am. Mutt Strut - Newport Ave at Southport Ave (773-697-8848, chicagocaninerescue.org). Noon–2pm; $40, advance $25, kids and dogs free.
For the eighth consecutive year, Smithsonian Magazine hosts national Museum Day Live!, which celebrates culture, science, history and education with free admission. More than 1,400 museums are expected to participate nationally, including Chicago's Adler Planetarium, MCA and others. Eat and drink sample servings from more than 100 Chicago restaurants and schmooze with chefs at cooking demos, tastings and book signings. Preempt those Monday work blues with some calming yoga by the beach. Moksha Yoga Center's Free Yoga Series concludes its summer set with this session a half mile south of Foster Beach.
