CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Bond has been set at $200,000 for a 19-year-old man charged with the shooting this week of two boys in the Far South Side Washington Heights neighborhood.
The two victims, ages 13 and 14, were playing football on the street in the 10800 block of South Eggleston Avenue about 5:25 p.m. on Thursday, police said.
That's when 19-year-old Walter White allegedly exited an alley and started shooting in the direction of the two, according to police.
Both victims suffered gunshot wounds to their abdomens and were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, according to police.
Witnesses provided police with a description and details of the incident and White was taken into custody a short time later.
White, of the 11000 block of South Parnell Avenue, was charged early Saturday with two counts of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm. Bond was set at $200,000 at a hearing Saturday at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse at 26th and California.
