McDonald's dollar menu has been a profitable way for the company to lure people to its restaurants for years, but increases in commodity prices are making it harder for the Oak Brook-based company to make money off of it.
Crain's Chicago reports sales at stores this month are trending downward and net income is down nearly 4%.
Still despite all that, McDonald's is not getting rid of the dollar menu anytime soon and the restaurant is not planning to promote it more either.
