Driver of stolen van in custody after Humboldt Park chase

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
Two 14-year-old boys were charged after a stolen van crashed during a short police chase in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side early Tuesday.
Police on patrol near North Keystone Avenue and West Thomas Street saw a van they believed to be stolen at about 2:30 a.m. and attempted to pull it over, News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
After a short chase, the van crashed in the 4200 block of West Thomas Street, police said.
Two 14-year-old boys were charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to property and released to guardians, News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said.
Charges are still pending against a 17-year-old boy, Perez said.
